Boston University’s Paralegal Studies Certificate Program earned the #1 ranking for Best Paralegal Program from readers of Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. The newspaper, widely read by legal professionals throughout the state, reports decisions issued by all state and federal courts in Massachusetts and other news vital to attorneys in the Commonwealth.
“We’re honored to receive the top ranking from the distinguished group of attorneys and other legal professionals who read Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. Though our reputation is national, these individuals are especially well-acquainted with our paralegal studies program and have the opportunity to hire many of our graduates locally,” said Program Director Joe Spada. He added, “They know more than anyone else what it takes to prepare paralegals for success in this dynamic profession.”
Since the publication’s founding in 1972, it has regularly honored attorneys with excellence awards and this year introduced a new recognition program that gives readers the opportunity to rank the organizations that support their legal practices.
BU won by garnering close to 40 percent of the vote in the Best Paralegal Program category.
In a letter to readers announcing the winners, publisher Susan A. Bocamazo wrote, “And who better to decide the top [organizations] in each category than you! … You know who does it the best. And you told us. You voted on your laptops, desktops, and phones from Springfield to Worcester to Boston.”
Boston University’s Center for Professional Education offers a paralegal certificate online. Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly readers recognized the program in their vote.
