Russ Bleemer is the editor of Alternatives, produced by the CPR Institute in New York, and Jossey-Bass, a San Francisco unit of John Wiley & Sons. He reports on legal issues for and about businesses, law firms, government, and courts. He and Alternatives have received thirteen national awards for writing and reporting since 2005 from the ASBPE; the Specialized Information Publishers Foundation; the Society of National Association Publications, and the Apex Awards for Publication Excellence. He is the editor of "Mediation: Approaches & Insights" (Juris Publishing 2005).
He is longtime program coordinator of Monday Night Law, a free weekly legal clinic at the New York City Bar Association. He was a 2012 recipient of the association's Jeremy G. Epstein Award for Outstanding Pro Bono Service, and shares with the program the 2015 Angelo T. Cometa Award, given by the Committee on Lawyer Referral Service of the New York State Bar Association.
He is a former American Lawyer Media law editor and a former staff writer at Dow Jones, as well as a former associate in a New York law firm corporate department. He is an honors graduate of the George Washington Law School in Washington, DC and Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio.
